Meet Ryan
From Media to Law: A Foundation in Storytelling and Advocacy
Ryan began his career in media, working as an editor for esteemed publications such as Time Magazine, the Washington Post, Sports Illustrated, Condé Nast Portfolio, and Gourmet Magazine. This experience sharpened his communication, critical thinking, and strategic skills. After earning his law degree from Capital University Law School in 2013, Ryan joined prominent law firms, where he quickly identified gaps in the legal industry’s ability to deliver practical, tailored services to small businesses and founder-led companies.
Championing Small Business Success
Ryan’s diverse professional background led him to serve as the Columbus Small Business Concierge, a role focused on helping businesses thrive by connecting them with resources and offering strategic advice. His impact was felt across the community, earning him recognition as one of Columbus Business First’s 40 Under 40 in 2019. This role underscored Ryan’s dedication to empowering entrepreneurs and highlighted his ability to bridge the gap between legal expertise and business strategy.
Building Activate Law: A Vision for Entrepreneurs
Guided by his legal acumen and deep community involvement, Ryan founded Activate Law with a mission to provide meaningful, practical support to small businesses and founder-led companies.
